In May 2001 I started making collages. I was inspired during the time preceding my Mother's death, and started with a few simple works. I find that making collages is a passionate exercise; it has changed the way I look at everything including laundry tickets, now seeing things as multi-layered, textured, scruffy, beautiful. Collages can be representational, narrative, abstract, whimsical, phantasmagoric. They capture the artist's unique expression, and view of the subject.
Tibet Portrait Gallery Photos
During the spring of 2004, I volunteered at an eye clinic (sponsored by the Public Health Institute of California and the Tibet Vision Project) in Namring and Saga, Tibet. These photos are dedicated to the Tibetan people I had the privilege of coming in contact with, some of whom have never seen a photograph of themselves. The photos are taken by myself and a several other volunteers.Post Your Artwork on my Collage Quilt Gallery
I invite students, associates, and friends to submit their own art for posting on a second web page. It doesn't have to be a collage. The work, side by side is to look like a quilt.
