Empty Chair

Sometimes the loss of one simple thing in the environment changes the experience of the whole. Here, the empty chair speaks to the departure of a familiar figure. Suddenly the house appears disheveled; the weeds begin to spring up; I become aware of the rusty drain pipe. It is as if the emotional climate in the house collapses.
